LATEST CARS

Like every other automobile to ever bear the revered name, the new Bugatti is so over-the-top you can't help but admire the audacious spirit which permeates all aspects of its engineering. The limited edition open-top Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will be the world's fastest open top car, capable of traveling at 360kmh with the roof off, and 407kmh with it closed. Just 150 will be made of the EUR 1.4 million Grand Sport with the first 40 reserved for existing Bugatti customers. The usual cut-no-corners approach has seen the original Veyron virtually re-engineered to accommodate the lack of the roof as a structural component.

Hungary is not the first place that comes to mind when thinking about cutting edge green vehicles, yet. If the creators of the Antro Solo have their way, the country will be synonymous with green machines by 2012. The Antro Solo is a solar, human and gas-electric hybrid vehicle. It looks like nothing else out there, and has a fuel efficiency of more than 150 miles per gallon! The Antro Solo is a three seat gas-electric hybrid prototype made entirely out of carbon fiber. This material choice allowed the graphic designers to lower the weight of the vehicle to a measly 270kg. This also allowed them to achieve phenomenal fuel efficiency and a pretty decent top speed of 87mph. All of this is impressive enough, but the Solo’s designers were not content to stop there.

In order to maximize the efficiency of the vehicle, the designers installed solar panels on the roof. These solar panels store energy in the car’s batteries which can be used for short 15-25km trips. If there hasn’t been enough sun to power the batteries, each passenger’s seat comes equipped with pedals that can power the vehicles generator. If you are by yourself, or everyone gets tired, the car can switch to its small combustion engine that is capable of running on petrol or ethanol
Owning a car is not just for comfort, it has become a style statement now days. People love to have the latest models of the luxury cars. Those who can’t even buy them also keep an eye over the market because people have passion for their favorite brands. Some of the well known brands Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Mercedes, etc are ready to launch their new models. As the last year was full of uncertainties for employees, no one was sure about their jobs due to recession, car companies also suffered. Much of the models were not released last year. But as the recession has started decreasing, car companies are also planning to launch their much awaited models now.

Audi is planning to launch R2, little sister of R8. Audi is planning to unleash this one in 2012. Its base price is expected to be around € 35,000. Other models to be launched by Audi in 2010 are Audi TT RS, Audi Q7, Audi RS5, and Audi A6. The BMW is also planning to launch BMW X1, BMW 7 series, BMW 6 series in 2010 and BMW X3 in 2011, and BMW Isetta IN 2012. Chevrolet is planning to launch Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Volt, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Spark in 2010 and C7 Corvette in 2012. Ferrari is also launching Ferrari Enzo II in 2012. So, these were the few luxury brands that have been discussed here but a lot more latest cars are ready to be launched.

These car companies are experiencing a lot of competition from one another. They are providing latest features in their cars and are trying to reach to masses. According to last four years of sale, it is believed that the Audi may have a chance to pass BMW in 2014, because BMW is not working on the number of new models that should add to volume.

An all-new Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) will join the ranks of law enforcement departments across North America in 2011. It's a modern, full-size, rear-drive sedan that will offer both V-8 and V-6 engines, as well as a host of specialized equipment and features.
Unlike other police cars on the market, the Caprice PPV is not based on existing "civilian" passenger-car model sold in North America. It has been developed in key areas specifically for police duty, containing modern equipment and features.
Special front seats designed for the long-term comfort of officers whose car is their effective office. The front seats are sculpted to "pocket" the equipment belt, which greatly increases the comfort for a great range of police officer sizes. The foam density of the seatback and cushion insert surfaces are designed to conform to the shape of an equipment belt's various items, too, allowing the officer's back to rest properly on the seatback surface.
The Caprice PPV is based on GM's global rear-drive family of vehicles that also underpins the Chevy Camaro. It uses the longest wheelbase of the architecture—118.5 inches—along with a four-wheel independent suspension that delivers responsive high-performance driving characteristics.
Caprice PPV's long wheelbase also contributes to exceptional spaciousness. Compared to the primary competition, its advantages include:

* A larger interior volume than the Ford Crown Victoria, including nearly 4 inches more rear legroom
* The barrier between the front seat and rear seat is positioned farther rearward, allowing for full front-seat travel and greater recline for officer comfortThe Caprice's 6.0-liter V-8 is rated at an estimated 355 horsepower with an estimated 384 lb-ft of torque. It is backed by a six-speed automatic transmission that is performance-calibrated for police duty. Additional, police car-specific power train and vehicle system features include:High-output alternator, engine oil, transmission and power steering coolers; standard 18-inch steel wheels with bolt-on center caps; large, four-wheel disc brakes with heavy-duty brake pads; heavy-duty suspension components; police-calibrated stability control system; driver information center in the instrument cluster with selectable speed tracking feature.A host of complementary features are also offered, including special equipment packages such as spotlights; lockouts for the power windows and locks; and an "undercover" street-appearance package.
